A short documentary video with the Nottingham Street Pastors.

In conjunction with our friends at Nottingham City Transport we recently shot a short documentary video showing a typical night for the Nottingham Street Pastors.

The Nottingham Street Pastors aim to care for anyone who enjoys the city’s night life on Friday and Saturday nights. The volunteers help people who may have become vulnerable as a result of excess alcohol consumption, drug use or if they have become a victim of crime.

The project, co-ordinated by The Malt Cross Trust, needs £24,000 a year to run and welcomes donations to keep the service running.

NCT recently made a £2000 donation to help them meet these goals, and this evening was an opportunity for NCT to learn more about what they do.

The biggest surprise for us was the fact that the Street Pastors are often faced with dealing with difficult circumstance for long periods, as they wait for help from the overstretched emergency services.

If you’re out this festive season in Nottingham, and you find yourself in a spot of bother, it will probably be the Street Pastors who will help you.

This documentary  video was shot by Doug, using a single Canon 5dmk3. Shot in colour and then output in black and white, the video gives a flavour of the typical evening that the Pastors face.
