Pub Architecture photography in Nottingham
After 20 years of being a Nottingham photographer, there really shouldn’t be anything left for me to discover!
So, I was nicely surprised when I visited, for the first time, The Newshouse pub on Canal Street.
We had an urgent call from a national newspaper for some architecture photography to accompany an article about the Nottingham pub, as it is considered an outstanding example of a post war pub by Historic England.
Now, normally of course you have a bit of notice for architecture photography, so you can pick your weather, scout it out, have a cup of tea… you know.. all that very nice type of thing. But it was 3 in the afternoon, and they needed the pictures before 6.
So I whizzed down, and was greeted by the very accommodating staff, and told to snap away. And what a great pub it is. The sort of place where you can feel instantly comfortable, a great selection of ales, nice locals, dogs, proper wooden floors… all the things a pub should be.
Anyways, you should visit.
So, here are some of the piccies, I thought they were quite fun.
