Nottingham’s University Hospitals NHS Trust Acute Medicine Unit is one of the busiest departments in this large NHS trust, and like all of the NHS is under enormous pressure to deliver high quality care at a time of increasing demand.
To help with this they turned to us to produce two videos.
The first, an induction video for NHS Junior Doctors and other clinical staff in order to ensure that new staff on the AMU were familiar with the routines and systems prior to arrival on the unit, thus saving time and costs on in person inductions.
The second, this video, a patient information video for GP’s and other stakeholders to share with referred patients prior to their arrival on the unit, again to familiarise themselves with what would happen during their visit, and positively manage their expectations.
As the Acute Medicine Unit is a busy 24 hour a day operation which cannot accommodate substantial disruption, we needed to work quickly and sensitively with the aim of causing zero disruption.
After a thorough pre-shoot scout, script development, and general planning, both videos were shot over a two day period by a single filmmaker, ensuring the least disruption on the day.
The edit was deliberately straightforwards, with a clear and easily understood voice over, clear subtitles, clean cuts, and a simple and clean intro, all to ensure that the video was easily understood and watched by all demographics, and could be easily shared by all stakeholders.
This once again demonstrated that our Agile Approach to production is easily able to accommodate almost any requirements, and produce an excellent result for the client.
